Refund Policy

We want you to be satisfied with Benjar. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which we offer refunds for paid subscriptions. All payments are processed by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments.

Summary: You may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase if you have consumed fewer than 10% of your plan's credits. After 7 days or significant credit usage, refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

1. Refund Eligibility

1.1 Full Refund (Within 7 Days)

You are eligible for a full refund of your subscription payment if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The refund is requested within 7 days of the original purchase date
  • You have consumed fewer than 10% of the credits included in your plan
  • It is your first refund request for this subscription

1.2 Partial Refund

A partial refund or credit may be granted at our discretion if:

  • You experienced a significant, documented service outage that prevented normal use
  • A billing error resulted in an incorrect charge
  • Technical issues on our end caused failed API calls that consumed credits

1.3 Plan Downgrades

If you downgrade your plan mid-cycle, the downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refund is issued for the remaining time on the higher plan, as you retain full access until the period ends.

2. Non-Refundable Scenarios

Refunds will not be granted in the following cases:

  • Credits already consumed: If you have used more than 10% of your plan's credits at the time of the request
  • Buyer's remorse after 7 days: Refund requests made more than 7 days after purchase without documented service issues
  • Overage charges for usage: Charges for credits consumed beyond your plan's allotment are non-refundable, as they represent services already delivered
  • Misuse or policy violation: If your account was suspended or terminated due to violation of our Terms of Service
  • Repeated refund abuse: Multiple refund requests across billing cycles intended to obtain free service
  • Free plan: The Free plan has no associated charges and therefore no refunds

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, follow these steps:

  1. Send an email to hello@benjar.org with the subject line "Refund Request"
  2. Include your account email address and the date of the charge
  3. Provide the reason for your refund request
  4. If applicable, include any relevant documentation (e.g., screenshots of errors, transaction IDs)

You can also find your transaction details and billing history in your dashboard under the Billing section.

4. Processing Timeline

  • Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge your refund request within 24 hours on business days
  • Review: Refund requests are reviewed within 3 business days
  • Processing: Approved refunds are processed by Dodo Payments within 5–10 business days
  • Credit to account: The refund will appear on your original payment method. The exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer

5. Refund Method

All refunds are issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Refunds are processed through Dodo Payments. We cannot issue refunds to a different payment method or as cash.

6. Refund Status

After submitting a refund request, you will receive email updates at each stage:

  • Received: We have received and logged your request
  • Under review: Our team is assessing your request
  • Approved / Denied: You will be notified of the outcome with reasoning
  • Processed: The refund has been issued by Dodo Payments

7. Subscription Cancellation

Cancelling your subscription is separate from requesting a refund. When you cancel:

  • Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • No further charges will be made
  • Remaining credits can be used until they expire at period end
  • Your account reverts to the Free plan automatically

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. If you believe you are also owed a refund, please submit a separate refund request as described in Section 3.

8. Disputes

If you are unsatisfied with our refund decision, please contact us at hello@benjar.org to discuss further. We are committed to resolving disputes fairly. If the dispute cannot be resolved directly, you may escalate through the dispute mechanisms described in our Terms of Service.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. For material changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
